  • Dentistry including Routine Power Floats

Annual dental exams are an important part of equine wellness. Dental disorders can often be managed with routine care. During every yearly wellness visit we will take the opportunity to look in your horses mouth however once yearly your horse should have a proper oral exam. This is performed by sedating your horse, placing a speculum and examining your horses teeth as well as evaluating their gums and tongue for signs of ulcers or infection. We offer both manual floats and power floats and are able to correct many equine dental disorders.

  • Deworming & Fecal Egg Counts

Internal parasites are common in horses. Horses may show un-thriftiness, a pot belly, have a dull hair coat, have diarrhea, colic or show no symptoms at all. We recommend a fecal egg count which involves collecting 2-3 fresh fecal balls and examining them under the microscope. Once analyzed we will instruct you if deworming is necessary and if yes, which dewormer you should be using. We have found that many horses do not need to be dewormed as frequently as previously thought.

  • Lameness Evaluations

Horses are incredible athletes but injuries and lameness occur frequently. If your horse is having lameness issues please book an appointment and we will do a full lameness evaluation. Some of the services we provide include:

Flexion tests and thorough lameness evaluation on the ground and under saddle.

Diagnostic nerve blocks to help localize the lameness.

Diagnostics such as digital radiology, and digital ultrasound.

Joint Injections, including: Alpha2EQ and ProStride.
